Nordic Climate Group Joins the Science Based Targets initiative
May 22, 2024.
Nordic Climate Group is now accelerating its sustainability efforts by joining the global climate collaboration SBTi – Science Based Targets Initiative. This means that we commit to setting scientifically anchored goals, for the entire group, aimed at reducing our collective climate footprint. Our application to join the initiative was approved in April 2024.
- As the leading company in the Nordics in refrigeration installations, it is important that we take our responsibility to contribute to reduced climate impact. We do this for the entire group with subsidiaries in all the countries where we operate. By joining SBTi, it is a statement of how significant sustainability work is for Nordic Climate Group, says Fredrik Gren, CEO, Nordic Climate Group.
Nordic Climate Group was founded in 2021 and is active in transitioning from synthetic refrigerants with F-gases to natural refrigerants. There is an ambition to always contribute to customers with maximum energy efficiency and minimal climate footprint.
The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a global organization that enables companies to set ambitious goals for emission reductions in line with the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. The initiative is a collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the UN Global Compact.
