IJskoud B.V. - Nordic Climate Group Continues to Expand in the Netherlands
Nordic Climate Group is further expanding in the Netherlands with the acquisition of IJskoud B.V., Amsterdam. This acquisition strengthens Nordic Climate Group's presence in the Netherlands and its role as a leading player in Northern Europe in the installation of cooling, heating, and energy solutions. The ambition is to grow the Dutch business through additional acquisitions. Established in 2021, Nordic Climate Group will generate nearly SEK 5 billion in revenue with the acquisition of IJskoud and employ approximately 1,800 people across more than 100 local offices.
IJskoud B.V. was founded in 1935 and is a well-established company in Amsterdam and the Randstad region. Its main focus is on cooling, climate technology, and energy efficiency solutions for hotels, hospitals, laboratories, and public buildings. Long-standing customer relationships have developed service and maintenance into significant parts of the business. Since 2003, IJskoud B.V. has been managed and owned by José and Henk Komin. The addition of the company adds 24 employees and a turnover of EUR 4.6 million (approximately SEK 53 million) to Nordic Climate Group. Nordic Climate Group Netherlands B.V. now comprises 9 companies, with 9 locations and 190 employees and approximately EUR 50 million in revenue.
"We are truly proud to welcome IJskoud to the group. It is a company that has built a strong presence in Amsterdam over a long time, focusing on the important service market. Additionally, they have a strong commitment to employee development. This acquisition represents a significant step forward in the development of our Dutch operations," says Joseph Kuling, Chairman of Nordic Climate Group Netherlands B.V.
The success of IJskoud B.V. is built on service and proactivity. Close relationships with customers and ongoing dialogue about their needs are the foundation for offering services that include preventive maintenance.
"Our driving force is to improve and evolve continuously, staying at the forefront of industry developments. This means we have invested in both technological advancements and employee competence. When we connected with Nordic Climate Group, we immediately recognized shared values. Being able to maintain our entrepreneurial spirit while being part of a larger group is a perfect fit. Now, we gain strength by working alongside other companies," say José and Henk Komin, CEO and Development Manager of IJskoud B.V.
Both José and Henk Komin will continue in their roles, maintaining a strong customer focus and pursuing their original plans for the company. One significant change is that they will now have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in Nordic Climate Group across the Netherlands and other countries.
Nordic Climate Group's focus is to help its customers minimize their climate footprint and maximize energy efficiency. The plan is to continue building a leading company in Northern Europe with strong growth both organically and through further acquisitions. The model is based on entrepreneurial drive, decentralized operational units, and collaboration in business development, procurement, employee training, and sharing technical expertise.
