MV-Jäähdytys Oy, Finland’s leading service company for cooling and professional kitchen equipment and subsidiary of Nordic Climate Group, has acquired JV Jäähdytysvoima Oy, Karjalan Kylmähuolto Oy, and CoolRef Oy. All three companies are located in Villmanstrand (Lappeenranta) in southeastern Finland, thus creating a new, domestic regional market for MV-Jäähdytys. The acquisitions employ a total of 12 persons. In Finland, the group now includes 11 local companies with more than 350 employees. The deal will strengthen Nordic Climate Group’s role as the leading installer of cooling, heating, and energy solutions in the Nordic region. Established in 2021, the group now has a turnover exceeding SEK 4.6 billion, with more than 1,600 employees working some 90 locations in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands.

All three of the newly acquired companies focus on service for industry, food retailers, and air conditioning. For some years, MV-Jäähdytys has worked closely with JV Jäähdytysvoima Oy, Karjalan Kylmähuolto Oy, and CoolRef Oy. Joining the group offers expansion opportunities for the three companies and significantly strengthens MV-Jäähdytys’s presence in eastern Finland.

- “We’re very happy to welcome out new colleagues. They are dynamic, innovative, and dedicated to progress and development. They are the best local operators in the region, and together, we can now meet customers’ needs with greater flexibility. It’s also important that our previous collaborative efforts have been very positive. Dependable and high quality, through and through,” notes Ilpo Mäkela, CEO of MV-Jäähdytys.

The deal offers new possibilities for MV-Jäähdytys to broaden its service offering in eastern Finland, and this will be particularly visible in improved on-call services and the development of cooling solutions for retail applications. The three companies will also enjoy new opportunities.

- “With its down-to-earth working methods and reliability, MV-Jäähdytys has made quite an impression on us through the years. We look forward to chances for growth in our operations. We’ve undergone our own development process, and we understand the value of having experienced and knowledgeable colleagues. It means stability for us when we’re ready to take our next steps,” explains Ville Sartiala, CEO of JV Jäähdytysvoima Oy.

- “MV-Jäähdytys’s way of thinking fits very well with our own. MV and Nordic Climate Group focus on refrigeration systems. This was essential for us when we considered this move,” says Juho Haikonen, CEO of Karjalan Kylmähuolto Oy.

The acquisition has been carried out according to Nordic Climate Group’s model, in which member companies continue their operations as usual, with the same customer focus and roles as before for the previous owners Janne Iitiä, Ville Sartiala, and Juho Haikonen.

Nordic Climate Group focuses on helping its customers minimize their climate footprint and maximize energy efficiency. The plan is to continue building a leading company in Northern Europe, with strong organic growth as well as expansion through acquisitions. The model is founded on entrepreneurial spirit, decentralized operations with cooperation in business, negotiations, and procurement, effective training, and sharing of technological know-how.
